Adoption Application

To adopt an animal you must be at least 18 years of age or older and have identification showing your present address. If you rent, you must have consent from your landlord. All references listed on this application must be contacted by our staff in order to process the application. Applications that are incomplete or contain false information will not be accepted. The following information is requested in order to help you select a pet most compatible with your family and lifestyle. Our number one priority is to place a pet in a permanent responsible home. Pets deserve to be a loved and respected addition to your life. The Nelson County Animal Shelter reserves the right to refuse adoption if determined to be in the best interest of the animal and/or the person(s) involved.
